I also get this feeling whenever I see Jinx fans making everything "Oh, they look like Kim Dam and Jaekyung" just because a character has black hair and brown hair. They even say this to normal people who has brown hair and apparently looks "breedable". I don't even get the hype of this shit? Where did this come from? It doesn't even deserve the love it gets because of how toxic it is.
yikes. i don't read jinx for the sole reason of it being a toxic one but for jinx fans to go that far baffles me. i get how anonymity in all sort of platforms can make anyone have the courage to say just about anything but ppl should dial it down a notch when they allude to others who are actually displaying their images online just coz they're reminded of their "favorites". i mean "breedable"?! really, tf are they on??? i've seen scenes of jinx from accounts i follow on ig and honestly the characters don't even hold a candle to black and brown haired couples or characters in other manhwas. and it feels like most of the fans are just itching to see how the uke would change the seme coz that seems like the kind of trope the author is going for again. i've read bj alex and saw all the gush flow in after the seme changed coz he realized he loves the uke but all the toxicity and abuse the ukes had to go through in both manhwas (jinx and bj alex) just made them doormat types and that's annoying and sad at the same time.
i am starting to develop a minor pet peeve when it comes to the anime: ppl commenting that Mao and Hisashi are like Eiji and Ash respectively. some even go as far as saying they're the reincarnations or that this is banana fish bl version. i found these sort of comments cute at first but now it's taking all i have not to be a wet blanket. i watched banana fish, was heartbroken at the ending too (which was why i couldn't bring myself to read the manga in full), and i love Ash and Eiji (and Shorter) just as much as the next person but in all honesty while Mao and Eiji do have a similar vibe, Ash and Hisashi are polar opposites to me when it comes to certain aspects of their characters. i now find those sort of comments irksome coz come on, Hisashi and Mao are just as unique as Ash and Eiji and the way they keep getting overshadowed with comments like "banana fish bl version" is just disheartening...
