EXACTLY! I will often tell my partner what I'm reading and every time I update him about the really crazy plot points in this, he always says “why doesn't she just leave?” I never have an answer. Lol

Right? She’s never tried to. I’d like to know that at least if she did try, she almost died or something you know? But hey, game’s over, I think she can go now lol

I feel like the game would find a way to stop her. See, in the kind of person who is overly nice. I'm also hella physically disabled. So if I were in her shoes, I would have charmed the frick out of everyone, had I lived literally past the first potential fork incident that is, and if all of the options didn't already love me, I would have relished my ability to run and be active and would have become some kind of athlete and/or swordswoman and said frick this and lived alone. THAT said, if I were in her predicament in the previous chapter, I would have said yes to the Prince and just left with him. She raised his bar so high so fast that moving in with him would have given her those last points. I don't get why she decided to push Eckles and full on drop the rest of them. I felt, the second he was so compliant and that because his score rose so fast, that something was up. It was too easy. Why would everyone but him be near impossible? I also found myself full on yelling at my screen “JUST, SPEND T.I.I.I.I.I.I.M.E WITH HIM!!!!!!!!!!!” He full on spelled it out for her. He wanted her time. If I were to go for Eccles, I would have gotten him, spend time getting to know him, being him things he needs, found ways to stop the other guards from heckling him, and just been a kind person. She KNOWS her rival was just nice and that won all of their hearts, so why she manipulated everyone involved instead of just being the good and kind person she clearly is is beyond me!

She makes it so clear she's using all of them, and it makes me so annoyed when she slides to not understanding why everyone doesn't love that DO much!

Gahhhh… but you have to understand where she comes from. Lives through one abusive-bad family, moves out does better for herself, and god really said f*** you, relive that terrible part of your life again. She doesn’t have the same capacity to love like a normal person. Especially when she knows what to expect from her new family. Nothing. The game showed that nobody loved her. And I think the dating sim game she played, if you didn’t get 100% favorability from someone, you died. She couldn’t just up and leave with the prince with the game ending right around the corner. He wasn’t at 100%, she still would’ve lost the game -> dead.
