The stuff you skipped:
He’s actually a half-breed of a human dad and a fairy mother. When his dad died, the Duke of lanshua ended up finding out his mother was a witch. He threatened to tell the officials about his mother if he didn’t cast a spell of obedience on himself.
So, he ended up basically being a slave to the Duke of lanshua. Including killing witches(which he apparently didn’t actually like(but the way he acted when he was hunting yielle was… whatever I guess. That’s how the story goes.)
Anyway, he wanted to get help from yielle to destroy the Duke of lanshua so he can have his freedom. He actually had the antidote to the poison on him and he was gonna administer it after shooting her down. However, he didn’t expect her to fall into the sea.(though idk why he wanted her help at that time since he didn’t know about Hansel nor about yielle’s birth parents. But again, whatever.)
Also, about the fairy, apparently he didn’t actually kill her. He killed the human shell of the fairy and then took the fairy to the fairy queen to get her treated for the poison cause the antidote he had was too strong for the fairy. Taking her to the fairy queen meant that she was too far away to keep up with the baiter for the curse, and that’s why the sleeping beauty curse happened. She’s alive rn.
He also ends up helping rohan(the half-breed baker that rose introduces them to) and also mother hotel and rapunzel, by housing them in a safe place.
He also admits that he’s committed heinous acts, even if it was under the orders of the duke, and he’ll always have that blood on his hands. So, neither he nor mc are trying to write it off.
He definitely annoyed me but he gets a slight redemption mid way through the story. There are some parts that make no sense(especially how he behaved during the first part of the story. He looked like he REALLY enjoyed witch hunting), but all in all, worked well enough imo.
Still won’t forgive what he did to Hansel’s hand tho lol
(When they learned about his past, they weren’t ready to forgive him btw. They just agreed to work with him and then punish him afterwards. However, he ends up being a big help in catching the Duke, so they decided to just have him be dead on record)
I skipped till the end after seeing that duke or whatever telling him to go find her in the palace. Like damn, leave her alone. From what I can see, they’re on good terms somehow, which makes no sense considering he nearly killed her and she lost years of her life in a coma. Then she wasted another 10 years or whatever looking for Hansel and Gretel. Living stressed out and spending all her money! Because of him!!! Oh, and he literally had her on the run, living in hiding and fearing for her life!
They lied about him being dead because of his “good deeds”, I can’t imagine what would excuse what he did to the main character, and that fairy he killed for literally no reason. He killed her and had someone else just hide her body. He treated her like garbage. Also, that time he was mad that he didn’t break Hansel’s wrists??? A child?
They need to look at the authors internet history or something, some really questionable morals (or lack of morals). The beginning where they treated a 13 year old’s infatuation towards a full ADULT like it was normal, was a hard read too. Setting up a whole romance with someone she admitted to practically raising??? Also how was he taller than her at 13?? Is she like 130cm or???
So many things just don’t make sense, like she honestly didn’t seem too interested in staying with them after spending Years looking for them. Guess they’re adults now but like ??? She barely asked about Gretel, if at at all. Even tho she still hadn’t seen her.
Anyways, I guess I’ve seen plenty of other stories somehow turnaround whole criminals, so maybe somehow it makes sense that they forgive him. Personally, I think I lost brain cells reading this and I hope that white haired dude gets punished.
