It seems to me that they both knew each other in the army and MC acted weird around ML because he’s gay and thought he was attractive (which seems to be a no go in the Korean military) and after all the awkward interactions they had in the military they are meeting again at work with a flipped power dynamic (MC used to have the upper hand as a senior in the military and know ML has hired MC’s company and is a higher up in said company). My guess is that ML could tell MC is gay, could tell MC was into him, ML was/is in MC, and MC has no idea and is dense as a rock.
That might be way ML was upset when MC turned him down for drinks in the military
but then why did he beat him up at the motel???
