HE regressed to this universe so he tried to not doing the same like what he did in s1. What Kloff thought what he felt is THE REFLECTION of him in S1.

i didn't know it was a tragedy. I was hoping, though not ideal, for a twisted happy ending. Instead I spent 30 minutes sobbing out loud (ppl would think a family member died lol ;-;), never has happened to me before (other than when watching banana fish because I also didn't expect it). It's not ok I hate the author (not really but how dare you hurt my heart you sadistic- anyway).
