glad to confirm Yihan's a shitty asshole
I can't bring myself to hate the uke, he was trapped by the man he loved who continually hurt him emotionally, and someone else who hurt him physically and blackmailed him. And that's *after* being stalked and witnessing his love be hit by a car, and the guilt from that. Now he's got a new life where he's dealing with sudden severe pain and being fucking stalked again. Dude has so much fucking trauma. Did he do a Stupid just now? Yup. But there's no way he's in his right mind after all that.

Literally like??? Everyone calling him dumb and hating him in the comments for doing one bad things as if his entire life hasn't been a shit show since he was born? The victim blaming is off the charts here....the same kinda ppl who will forgive any criminal seme for their "sad childhood" but still blame the uke for falling for them... like this dude is allowed to make mistakes he's allowed to be traumatized and not know how to deal with the insane situation he's in, pretending any human in his position would deal with it "normally" is the actual stupidity when the situation itself is nowhere near "normal"...

Honestly when it comes to shit like this I really blame the writer. They intentionally paint the asshole semes/red and black flags like they're redeemable, and continually downplay trauma and traumatic events usually forced on the uke which would honestly probably give real people PTSD. I get that it's fiction, but there's a limit to suspension of disbelief. If they're a regular ol' human and the story is meant to be taken seriously as a narrative (as opposed to something like pure smut which you leave your brain at the door for), their brains still function like ours do, so it has to be realistic at least to a believable degree. Some of these writers make me wonder if they've ever even met a human lmao.

I definitely agree with your point, most authors don't even acknowledge hardly anything that happens to the uke and 90% of the time even when the uke gets raped they're the ones apologizing to the seme for "cheating" it's a total mindfuck.

However in this case I'd say she's done a fine job of showing the uke is not right in the head directly because of the various traumas he's going through, we see him getting overly anxious and paranoid as it goes on which is normal! Hes not being "dumb" like the other comments are saying cuz like no shit what else can be do? like he can't even trust his own feelings know what actions to take, what information to trust, the his past or now present or his previous future, anytime he does something he gets those physical attacks so he doesnt even know the scope of how much he can stray from reliving his already traumatic past while trying to "fix" it, there is a lot going on and I think like most humans while you're going through the thing you are mostly just confused because unless you're actively seeking help like therapy or something most ppl don't fully understand the full extent of just how much xyz situations are effecting them mentally and physically, in the moment you are just trying to survive and somehow make the best decision with the information you have and what feels right with an already compromised pysche

Like even in other books where there really isn't a problem but the ukes just written to be annoyingly indecisive they're just in constant thought bubbles which while true for an overthinker I'd say is usually due to bad writing

But again here it does make sense that he'd think for four paragraphs because saying a line to anyone cuz he's in a situation where he genuinely doesn't know what's the "right" thing to do

Even with the relationships it's clear that he deep down understands he's been tied to these dudes due to his guilt of what's happened in the past and present which again that situation wasn't even his fault, having a stalker alone would've been enough to mess him up this bad but then he's got all this other crap to deal with

He can't choose between them cuz he's genuinely not even with them because he "loves" them its because he has no choice but to be with them due to xyz reasons and in his mind rn the only way to free them and himself is somehow preventing the accident and then finally allowing himself to actually ask himself how does he actually feel about these two guys without all this other baggage and if he can even separate all the positive/negative feelings that developed in the years after if he has to continue living in this timeline

It's a lot to deal with and while he may be a fictional character, I feel we can still allow him some grace
