I’m just not too sure about that. The emperor is allowing a mass murderer to continue because he thinks she’s scary. He doesn’t even try to stop her. He just throws their child into her maws and lets it all move on. His cowardice has killed so many people. He is emperor so it is his responsibility to deal with, but he won’t.

yeah in that comment i meant exactly the emperor. not to blame him for being sa'd but he's the one with the most power, if only he had done something from the start to suppress the empress and her family, innocent children wouldn't have to bear the consequences (+ if only he had sat down even once to talk to Etienne, a lot of those deaths could've been prevented)

I think I hate the Empress more because the emperor is kind of just pathetic. He’s very much so a kind of stupid character to begin with not saying that he did have something that happened to her by her hands. She is a literal rapist. He did get raped. He is a victim, but he’s also accomplice on literally letting her plan the death of his family members so he could have power. He did sacrifice literally for power like he didn’t think of the consequences before his actions literally crap so crappy person, but he’s also victim so to be realistic he’s not as bad as the emperors because she literally is sociopathic, crazy ass bitch.
I find it difficult to know if I hate the mother or the father more? They are both monsters, but of different kinds.
