Not sure if it’s the official translations or because I’ve read this multiple times now, but I understand much better what’s happening.

It’s also crazy seeing how people are talking about the rape in the comments. It’s there to be sexually titillating. You’re supposed to like it. It’s not real and, if you have a fundamental understanding of the genre, you know rape is a widely used trope in BL. If you don’t like it, don’t read. I liked it. I’m going to go read it again.

Thing is that rape here is depicted in a meaningful way, like obviously it was bound to happen. I cannot agree with the rest tho, rape should never be liked, not even in porn, which is why it’s problematic. Another problematic thing about yaoi here is that they portray rape for NO reason and it’s widely used. Like, rape is just used, no reasons, no dynamics, no plot, just there to provoke a feeling. That’s bullshit. There has to have meaning and consequence to the rape for it to actually be relevant and for it to be OKAY.

Romance novels written by women in the 80s and 90s also portray a lot of rape. Rape when real is a horrible crime against humanity. Women are largely the victims. It’s no wonder women like to take something that is a real threat and fantasize it into something that isn’t.

It’s the same with men and war. Men’s fantasies glorify a truly horrible thing. Men who go to war will tell you it’s nothing like the movies and a lot of them are traumatized. This is fiction. It’s okay. Liking fictional rape is okay. Liking fictional war is okay. The only thing you need to do to be responsible is understand that you will not find this behavior acceptable in reality. That fictional rape/war only exists in fiction. No need to police people’s fantasies.

The problem is saying “it’s okay it’s fictional just know your boundaries!” when it’s statistically proven that it has affected people mentally and no one maintains those proper boundaries. ESPECIALLY IN PORN. It’s okay if you wanna portray rape, but you shouldn’t gloss over the consequences. Honestly I don’t get why everybody is so disappointed in the rape HERE because I could tell, even if it was unnecessary but I could get why they’d portray it too. Of course they could’ve showed how they had “angry aggressive sex” instead but rape isn’t exactly unrealistic either here.

Moreover rape fiction has led to women like rough sex which isn’t good for them nor is normal and have a very blurry concept of real sex. And it has also led men to do unimaginable stuff.
