Yeah for sure but I haven't seen enough "evil" inner monologue from heesung to come to that love bombing conclusion because I assumed that love bombing comes after a really rough patch or fight not casual. Dan is not "too smart to be pushed around" jesus christ he had soda poured on him, got berated, was kept away from picking up the phone for his hospitalized grandmother, worked late nights for an expensive key chain to be thrown in the trash and still is in love was the prick that is joo jaekyung.

Love-bombing doesn't have to come after anything, lots of manipulators start off with love-bombing and spoiling people in order to make them feel emotionally indebted and put their walls down. Heesung isn't evil but he's definitely manipulative. Also, because of Dan's horrible situation, he literally feels like he owes his and his grandma's entire life to Jaekyung on top of the insane amount of monetary debt (which is extra important and stressful when you have poverty trauma). Dan isn't a dumbass, he's a victim. I know this is fiction but God I hope you have more common sense and compassion irl.
Yeah but it was explicitly Dan being in love with Jaekyung not "feeling indebted" it was not "owing Jaekyung" it was "being in love" and "wanting Jaekyung's attention and affection" but if we're talking paying back the debt Dan pays it back with sex and falls in love while the banging was ongoing. The framing is Dan being in love with Jaekyung not "owing him one" in the beginning it was the debt but currently it's love which is why I'm saying he's a "dumbass".
I just mean that we never see Heesung's inner monologue or thoughts expressing what his end goal is with being nice to potato maybe he expressed it once verbally and I'm not remembering correctly but overall it seemed like he was being nice and horny.
All I could think of was painter of the night with how power imbalance-y that roleplay was. Love seeing one happy fairly healthy couple in this story. Doc Dan could've had it if he wasn't such a dumbass.
