Eugene's an asshole but he's like...a yellow/orange flag at most. It's actually not terrible. I don't do 'redeeming' black or full on red flags bc to me there's no redeeming those people in the context of being able to have a relationship with people they abused. They just need to go far away. But Eugene isn't *abusive* per se, he's just a dick lmao. So I can see him softening up and becoming a decent person and it'll make sense while also feeling satisfying. So watching him be an asshole is fun knowing the inevitable chasing/simp arc is probably coming. Just hope hs doesn't cross over into full on red flag territory before thennnnn

My thing is, he's not yet said no to any of it. They're both jerks to eachother honestly, but it's in a way that I wouldn't be surprised if it was a massive series of misunderstandings, assumptions and implications.

well....there is the power imbalance of if Chaewoo says no or whatever, there's the possibility in his mind that Eugene could pull the contract. IIRC Chaewoo didn't say anything about there being penalties *on the family's side* for cancelling. We *do* know there are penalties for Chaewoo. So he could feel financially beholden and pressured not to say no.

I think any penalties would be of the social variety. Their reputation would be at stake if CW said anything. It is true, but I think that's what makes it a yellow/orange flag whereas if he didn't agree to it, it's would be full on, no issues raised with wether or not it's, rape. Now it's still absolutely dub-con, which I personally constitute as rape, but there could possibly be loopholes of it ever went to court... I mean whether or not this counts as a yes legally. Eg would be screwed if the whole thing saw its way in court cause he broke the contract first. He took advantage of someone in heat, and in our world that would most likely be considered intoxication. That said, he full on blackmailed CW too. So he definitely sucks, but this is friction and he's got lol.

It's so nice to see an actual discussion on these boards for once without it turning into petty name calling (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
