Honestly

Honestly for me I kind of understand the authors choice of making the MC chose to be reborn. He was reincarnated so many times and his current life was a life of someone else. He woke up on that body and go on full hard work to obtain 30 stars to stop his neverending cycle of reincarnation. Technically, he's been on that body for 3 years. Although he made connections and relationships, it was not his life. He is not even Ban Yoohyeon. So ok. I get it. (The real Ban Yoohyeon even came back as a clueless dude. So the real owner of the body is alive. So really it's ok.)

BUT, I would've accepted it 100% if the MC was reborn and started as a baby as in a new life. But no, they are on the same timeline and that mysterious guy who we all know is him is an adult. So it looks to me like he just possessed someone else's body "again". Which in my head, defeats the purpose of wanting a new life.

I got emotional on chapter 65 when he was starting to panic about what he will do once he reach 30stars and his fear of losing the people and the moments he have now. I feel so much empathy for him. I also felt this when I recently read Cheolsu Saves the World. They both have neverending cycle of reincarnation until you reach the goal and the absentminded thought of what to do after they achieve it. It's sad and hopeful as well. I really wish they lived a good life after the story ends.

Anyway, I still really like the entire story and I would recommend it. Just enjoy the ride. ;)

I agree with you I at least wanted mc to completely start over and be reborn as an infant so he could live a life that is his so I was a bit dissatisfied with the ending too.
