See there is this one detail in this story we take note of, that the lawyer already knew deep inside as a kid that her adopted mother was the culprit, and part of the reason he sponsored Hae-soo was out of guilt. But the lawyer's over-involvement to his life while also being detached was the reason this kid got fucked up so bad. His sponsorship for his foster family while failing to attend to his state bcs he refused to get directly involved(while also being very involved) have caused him to be used and abused by these ppl for money. He shouldn't have done it in the first place if he wasn't going to see thru it. You'd think multiple suicide attempts by the school building would've given you a hint but nah. Now imagine the murderer of your mother who framed the case as suicide and had made me blame myself by thinking that she offed herself bcs of her hardships in being a single mother go "oh yes i did kill her but pity me i have cancer im gonna die soon and your evidence isn't solid enough to get me to prison anyways" and then run as CONGRESS after beating cancer. Now imagine the person who had been your benefactor chose the murderer over justice of your mother. Now that person choses to abandon you out of guilt. I'm not defending Hae soo at all but if im gonna be honest I dislike the rest of the characters in this story more than him.
