Yeah it reminds me of me when i was young.. she knows it wasnt real and maybe she doesnt even see him but for representing it easier the author drew him for us to understand.

Yeah and maladaptive daydreaming is present in teens and adults too. It's different schizophrenia. The female lead just loves her imaginary friend more than real humans
