Details, first of all, let's list down Taeui's reason for crushing on Shinlu. Taeui likes Shinlu because he's his perfect ideal type(except that Shinlu's a top) and his attraction to Shinlu physically is not as high as Ilay. Why do I say that? Because whenever Shinlu got touchy rizzy to Taeui, Taeui was like "He's so cute, but nawww~~", he's always running away or awkward or simply just averting Shinlu. Taeui was just being stubborn on staying with Shinlu coz Shinlu's appearance is the exact type that he's been dreaming of in a lover. He's not that attracted to him as a lover- it's like an innocent puppy love.
While onto Ilay, Taeui always look at Ilay (who wouldn't when Ilay is such a fine man and a murderer you needed to take note of) anyways, Taeui is attracted to Ilay physically. 1, Ilay's hands- Taeui is almost obsessed with it, it's constantly on his mind. 2, When Ilay helped him masturb@te, he just let it be (you're going to argue Tay has no choice? Bro let me tell you- Taeui have a strong survival instinct however, he tends to be reckless- moving without thinking- if he doesn't like something, if he really wants to do it, he can do it no matter what, even if he ended up dying. So, with this in mind, IF Tay really doesn't like Ilay, he can fight him to death regardless of Ilay's murderous intent. 3, At that confrontation scene when Ilay got in between Tay and Shinlu. Tay is more willing to stay in UNHRDO and suffer in Ilay's sexual harassment than to come with Shinlu who he allegedly like more than Ilay(?). He's suffering so much, then why not run away with your sweetheart? But no, he chose to stay even though he knew he's in for more suffering.
4, Taeui spends more time analyzing Ilay than Shinlu. Shinlu is clearly sus but Taeui chose to ignore those flags and keep Shinlu's innocent persona in his head while on Ilay, Taeui knew he's a psycho but he still spends time thinking why is he such a psycho. Taeui isn't curious about Shinlu at all (his real personality, family bg, disposition, etc, he just like Shinlu's appearance like how we like looking at cats for peace of mind) while Taeui spends half of his time thinking about anything about Ilay.
Subconsciously, Ilay's existence is heavier in Taeui's heart than Shinlu is.
Another note: Shinlu can feel that Taeui is more attracted to Ilay than to him because bro is so insecure, just seeing tay and Ilay together is enough to trigger him. When it's obvious to everyone that Taeui likes him more, why is he so insecure? It's because he knows Taeui can't give himself to him coz Tay's feelings to him isn't that deep. He knows it and so he acts like that.

Another things to keep in mind. The real reason Taeui run away from Ilay isn't because he's had enough of Ilay's harassment, it's because he got hurt when Ilay acted like a prick after what Ilay did to him. AND Who freaking person would fvck the person they wanted to run away from?! If you call it revenge r@pe, FINE! But WHY IS HE STILL THE BOTTOM?! Taeui already accepted Ilay's existence in his life deep inside, he was just stubborn and skeptical about Ilay's overall persona. In short, he's still fighting that feelings that's already in there
