The author said that the webtoon was of the Film Noir genre. this genre is so much deeper and twisted than it seems (e.g. films like Seven, Memento are of this genre). For me, TJ and Ian's story cannot have a happy ending. If we follow the Film Noir genre, TJ is part of Ian but cannot be endgame because Ian must separate himself from his past to move forward. This relationship was happy for a time and now is so painful because it is stagnating. A person once told me that first love always leaves its mark in you, as if this person were your hands if we speak figuratively (they are useful and you use them every day) . But after a while these hands are tied, and you have to cut them off to move forward although it means loosing a part of you. Anyway, sorry for the long message but the story of Wet Sand is so realistic. I will need to reread it from the start since some détails make sense now.
