Lin Li don't worry, even I am the same just like you, special occasions don't feel like anything for me as well cause people do it like a duty. The one with the birthday celebration, felt such a personal thing to me. Growing up birthday wasn't something that was actively celebrated. Even then I used to look forward to it as well, but deep down I knew that the day isn't special. A cake would be just a custom sometimes, forced to bring or sometimes done willingly to uphold tradition. After the cake cutting they will just go on... Not sit down and talk at all. Even in relationships, I had tried celebrating 100days or anniversaries, by gifting them handmade gifts... A few months later those gifts would be thrown out of their house cause their guardians took them for garbage... Yikes. Such a harsh world we live in...
