it’s more emotional betrayal than physical one - he finally trusted ML to be someone he can be comfortable with + won’t have to worry about debt because of, but after he was kidnapped for money his father took, he felt like they’re back to square one even after everything they went through. (though the ml would’ve stopped this from ever occurring if it wasn’t done so quick & behind his back)
