Is it bad that I lowkey don’t care? Like the Palestine stuff, Israel stuff a wrapped up. I really have no say in who’s right or wrong so I’m very “I’m not involved with this” kinda mentality. Ignorance is bliss I guess? But is it bad?

You see... In SEA we don't have good impression of that side... We grew up being scared of terrorism from people who claims they do it in His name. They steal your home and rape women and children. No help comes because it happens in urban/rural areas... There are some people who claims to do it for such reason and be a walking bomb in a train station, in the mall or anywhere that is populated. Now that I have lived in the US for more than a decade, I finally learned the truth that not all of them are like that, that there are just people plain extremist... But be aware even how fast the technology progresses, the truth is always not available. People whose loved ones passed because of the traumatic events and because media will only tell us when bad things happens, people will be more closed minded. When people expressed their opinions, it is better to lay out the facts... If that will change their opinions then it's good, but people who saw people suffered and actually lost their love ones will take time to understand...

It's not bad cuz some people don't even care about US school shooting or Paris Olympics with e coli water or Ukraine and Russia war.

However, the thing is t82jp talking about the novel author being Islamophobic as in insulting Muslim's god, not about Palestine or Israel stuff. Allah means god in Arabic, so it's just novel author being hateful to Islam or to Arab people generally becuz Christian Arab people would use Allah too if they pray in their own language. However it's nothing to do with Palestine and Israel...

You're entitled to your own opinion but saying ignorance is bliss is wrong. Taking a "neutral" stance is taking the side of the aggressor. It's like someone around you is being bullied but you don't do anything to help that person because "ignorance is bliss." If you're being neutral because you don't know enough about the conflict, you should at least gain some understanding of the situation. There is no true neutrality in a genocide.

Exactly this. Being passive is not neutrality, it's standing on the side of the oppressors.

People always ask how regular Germans could allow Natzi Germany to happen & commit all those atrocities in WW2 and how it was justified.. well, you're seeing it happen today. Israeli government has been committing genocide for decades, and have only ramped it up with the current fighting. At the same time, they've been spreading propaganda that dehumanises Palestinians, thus leading to scenes where you have some Israeli people HAPPY to see them being bombed and killed.

It's sad to see that the western world is justifying genocide and unwilling to call it out because of another genocide from the past. Neither are right, and we should be able to call it out for what it is.

It is bad, like when A steal B's house, make it like A's own house, but then play the victim and kill them. And u as a neighbor just sitting there and do nothing. Imagine it was ur house that got steal like that. Know their story first, and how can u feel nothing while watching kids and children got killed in brutal way? Like I said before, there is no being neutral. If you think you're neutral you're actually siding with the oppressor, the villain. "I don't know enough" then go learn. This conflict has been going on since the late 1900s, there is an abundance of resources for you to find. Even just a quick search in many social media apps will bring up so many videos and post about the situation. If you're not smart enough to choose a side maybe you should get off the Internet and go back to school.
