This story reminds me that of my great grandparents. My great grandmother married my great grandfather when she was only 14 years old and he was around 38. Her family was dead poor so they basically "sold" her because they couldn't feed another mouth. Their marriage wasn't consummated until she was 17 - 18. Yes, it's pretty horrible to hear it, but my great grandmother always said that she had a good life with her husband, considering the poverty and bad circumstances of people back then. She always claimed that while he was alive, my great grandfather was very considered of her, of her needs and never pushed her to do something that she didn't want, sexually speaking. I don't know how much of this is true or false but she always spoke fondly of him and the time they were married. Anyway, this story reminded me of that.
