If i remember correctly, he said it before that he want to make Hak Jikang as an army. Idk what exactly he means by that, and if I comprehend it right. Basically he want him as an assets, they make those androids with his brain, They always trying to improve the androids with each series, but keep failing to recover Hak Jikang's memory and sensitivity as a human. They will keep improving until they get it right. That's why the old man want Soho the way he is right now, as he described him as 'broken'. That's how I understand it so far, I'm sorry if i'm wrong lol

I interpreted it as him wanting permanent control of an immortal Hak Ji Kang. I’m not completely sold on whether the major actually ordered the hit, but thought it might be the designs of his ambitious family or overzealous supporting faction. It was clear that he was more possessive and objectified Hak Ji Kang rather than legitimately feeling affection for him. He wants to feel like the robots have pieces of Hak Ji Kang, but without his autonomy or legitimate consciousness

    Exactly!
Even at the memory of their interactions he seemed more possessive than loving

But what happens with the "hate him" part ??

It'd better for both of them if he keeps loving him (AKA: don't knowing his lover is his murder)

That’s what made me think it was orchestrated by people who thought Hak Ji Kang was a stumbling block for the major’s career

I think he wants Hak Jikang to always remember him, even tho it was hatred feeling that make Hak Jikang remember him. That's just how I understand it lol
