If i’m not mistaken he only doing it because his goal is to kill the murderer (Ian) sister (hestia). Basically since Ian killed Kain sister he gonna kill his sister. Because he couldn’t kill Ian and Ian was literally dying he chose to kill the sister which got him into this mess.
yeah like it's even stated (or implied i can't remember) that bc Ian killed his sister, he will get revenge by killing the sister (hestia) of Ian as payback/revenge. Eye for an eye, basically
