victim blaming a guy for getting kidnapped is the last thing i expected in this comment section. did we all forget how heeseo was FULLY in control during their time together, and used his own life to manipulate tae?? i admit, i expected heeseo to be obsessive because of his lack of guidance and taes inability to lay down boundaries- but in the same breathe we need to remember that heeseo never let tae be a guardian and instead forced him to fulfill his own needs. we also saw heeseo make tae lead him on, knowing full well tae would feel guilty and empathic towards his pain. it was always ml who asked leading questions, and tae had no other choice but to feed into it or else he’s go off the rails or harm others/himself

also tae wasn’t passive!! he was trying to balance solving his teachers murder while taking care of an unstable teenager, and keeping it a secret from his mom and criminal justice system. no duh therapy would’ve been a great option but guys… this story is quite literally relying on a kidnapping plot ofc they won’t try to solve mls issues through normal means

Yes I just don’t get it, he didn’t commit the murder either and ppl kept saying he deserves this because he broke up with a mentally unstable partner who forced him into this relationship too is crazy.

LITERALLY. people are forgetting that he was dealing with a severely mentally unstable person whose only motivation and desire was tae himself and he was put in a difficult position with the adopted mother as well??

she wouldve died before a trial. people are really uninformed about the justice system and think the process is quick but it takes more than 6 months to even begin a hearing . she was supposed to die and he wanted to let heeseo be free of this information. the guilt was too much for him too and tae truly believed heeseo would be much healthier and happy without himself around

I just felt bad for Taekyung, he has been parentless since young and he only got to live a better life because of his foster family. And even though she’s a murderer, she’s good to Taekyung. Just as you said, he was put into the literally difficult position. Those kind of court hearings which involved murder has a lot of trials which are long up to years too. It’s just a miracle that she survived cancer and what does that have to do with Taekyung. And ppl are more mad and lashing out at Taekyung for the murder thing his adoptive mother committed is crazy. All he did wrong was not setting boundaries with Heeseo , and that’s also because Heeseo that psycho kept trying to kill himself, gaslight and manipulate him using violence, tears and so on.

THANK YOU!!! you explained it perfectly, at the end of the day he was still groomed (not sexually) by the adopted mother- putting aside his suspicion of her. her end goal was to suppress ALL witnesses no matter who was harmed and people are minimizing how difficult this situation is all around + provide no ounce of nuance for tae

don’t even get me started on the victim blaming for tae again. i think readers truly forgot how horrible heeseo treated tae and the lengths he went to, to make tae stay by his side. such as the self harm, destructive behaviors, threats, using his kindness as an exchange for taes affection, and so much more! it’s very easy for them to say tae should’ve put him in therapy but imo it’s really telling me they’ve never experienced an emotionally abusive, impulsive ex. then adding on how heeseo was someone he felt obligated to care and seek justice for… it doesn’t help
