I get where you're coming from. Of it's any comfort, *SPOILER WARNING* in the end, they won't judge him as evil, just as a person who did wrong things, but can grow from it.
I mean ye but also it’s realistic, desperation can and does drive people into the hands of dangerous manipulators like that so it’s not really unnatural or too much for the story
i actually agree with this but i just find it annoying from a narrative standpoint, maybe it could've been executed better? still its a good angle.
I think the author wanted to showcase how generational trauma works. If your parents were hurting you, you will hurt others, even if you promised yourself you wouldn’t turn out like them. He was not a truly bad person, he was a hurt person. While this does not excuse his actions, it explains them and allows him to work through it. He did regret what he did and got the consequences. Allowing yourself to learn and grow as a person is the first step.
In my opinion, adding such a character was a nice touch. It shows that even queer relationships see abuse and it’s not all glitter.

i was loving it until chapter 30, im so tired of every story having to have an 'evil' character, the sister and grandma where enough conflict characters. i dont get why the author had to shoe horn in an evil boyfriend character just to make Jun suffer even more, his sister is already horrible to him and he believes that his parents will hate him if he comes out, that is enough conflict to build a story around. It just feels cheap and annoying. :/
