Ok so, this is how I believe things between went in the past:
Sunwon confessed what he did at the past writing competition (the one he got first and Haejin got second)
And tell Haejin that he feels like Haejin's father death is his fault and the one who said "let's not meet" isn't Haejin but is Sunwon + that "how could you do that" (I'm not 100% sure that they said this line in the manhwa) isn't what Haejin said but the thought in Sunwon's mind.
I'm just sharing my thoughts so pls don't take this srsly
This would’ve been a good read but the placement of future and present day of the story is all over the place.
And on top of that they didn’t even show us their break up scene or what sunwoo said to him exactly.
I feel like this break up scene should’ve been shown sooner so that we could understand their pain and regret in the present time.
