I have seen the show but dropped it after two seasons. You are the one who don’t know this series since you literally described Ferdinand’s life as well. He was supposed to be sacrificed and turned to magic stone because of some f*cked up royal tradition. Instead, he was brought to his father’s state to be abused by his step mother, poisoned everyday even at the academy. He never experienced familial love until he met Myne who protected him unconditionally.

First of all i I didn't assume coz why would you say 'ironic' when my first comment is about pedophilic traits. And lastly, Ferdinand and Myne's first interaction was when she was still a child and he's a much older age, they basically grow together which is weird when they started to have a romantic relationship at the end.

You know what, I said it’s ironic because I’ve seen fans ship the characters in your picture and thought that was the way their relationship will end. However, upon googling, it seems that is incorrect and some fans are just disturbed. I will apologize for that. But, you calling me a pedo because of that is still unreasonable. Lastly, whether Ferdinand and Myne might have been engaged, it was a business/political arrangement to live freely and achieve their goals in their new duchy. It was explicitly stated in the novel that Myne doesn’t romantically love Ferdinand and felt guilty with the whole engagement. The same goes for Ferdinand; he only wished for familial love like how he saw Myne’s family (both in her previous life and her commoner days) cared deeply for Myne. He literally felt jealous when he first watched Myne’s memories of her previous life and whenever he saw Myne’s commoner family sacrifice themselves for Myne. Why? He never had that and was abused everyday, he longed for it since he never experienced it with his own family. Myne was the one that showed and made him feel protected by a family throughout the series.
