I noticed that. The abuse is horrendous. Not just BL, but straight Manhua too. Though I do love when the Antagonists get their comeuppance. It takes like 3,000 chapters though. Lol

I noticed that a lot of Asian romance authors, especially from China seem to favor very narcissistic characters in relationships where the receiver (woman or bottom) simply absorbs all of that behavior. It damages the integrity of the story and characters, because the victim is almost written to be needy, indecisive, and spineless, because those traits are necessary for someone to stay with a person who mistreats them, while also not denouncing the abuser as the villain of the story)
