His mama is very soft on him and cause of that he's getting spoiled ,but that doesn't mean he should get hit for running away, he's still young and beating him with a belt or a slipper won't do any good, it'll make him more scared of his parents than anything else. I don't think hitting children is a good way to educate or teach, words are better.
