tbh they're both toxic but it balances out, like it's not one innocent partner being taken advantage of it's two possessive idiots figuring out how deal with emotions and with each other. i felt bad for the top at the beginning but the side stories in his pov made me realize he's highkey just as bad so i felt significantly less bad for him lmao
