he really cant. but since the end was cut short, its open for interpretation and i would like to think that they both swam out of the ice with jooha's help
also, wdym the side stories are from before they fell in the water??? no. i refuse to go through heartache again. give me the happy ending where jooha remembered everything and they're both happy and living with their cat as a big happy family
