To focus on the point of Raphlas,, i honestly thought we were going to see more of him when he was first introduced because it was her first friend around her age. I knew they were gonna do something in the romance section with him, but i wasn’t expecting them to completely blind side us and then boom he has a crush on her. (But also not gonna lie, he had more chemistry with her in that chapter they first met compared to mr.spirit..i’m still fucked in the head over that particular direction the story took)
Overall the plot was pretty good. I really liked the story up until the coming of age ceremony. However I felt like there was a lot of gaps in the story too. What is Isaac’s background and how did he know was Estrella and what was up with the vision and who was is mother..etc. what happened to the blood sword and y was Estrella’s guard the only one who was able to handle it without going crazy.
The whole romance between the spirit and the MC was so forcedddd that it was hard to read. Even tho at the end of the novel Estrella is probably abt 19 she still acted like a 12 year old most of the time idk if that’s still because she’s traumatized or if that’s the ice powers influence or however they rationalized her not being able feel certain emotions easily or something. The romance thing with raphlas? Was so weird and we literally only saw him show up maybe 3-4x
