slow burn or just annoying?

im all for a slow burn romance but i hope this series doesnt drag out her abuse for 20 chapters. the "intimate" scenes are so uncomfortable to read, and the fl is drawn in objectifying tight clothing every chapter. (which makes no sense considering shes supposed to wear "hag" clothes...) i swear every chapter her body looks more ridiculous. but im hoping for a good series regardless...

I think you're missing the point. It may be uncomfortable with the intimate scenes, however these moments are crucial for depicting the difficulty of escaping an abusive relationship. The story's slow burn emphasizes how the ex-husband's lack of respect for her manifests over time. From the beginning, he pressures, coerces, or assaults her sexually. It a sign that he see women as sex objects rather than human beings.

In the recent chapter, he manipulates her into believing he doesn't need to have sex with her, despite his past assaults and claims like "I won't do that to you." This manipulation makes her feel increasingly obligated to comply, fearing worse treatment if she doesn't. One of the obstacles to recognizing chronic mistreatment in relationships is that most abusive men don't initially appear as abusers. They often exhibit good qualities such as kindness, warmth, and humor, particularly early in the relationship.

It have to be a slow burn. The manhwa takes its time to carefully illustrate this dynamic, rather than condensing it into a few chapters. If you feel uncomfortable with that fact then it a sign that it show the reality of an abusive relationship and how horrible it is. The ex-husband's comments about her clothes being baggy indicate his changed perception of her, seeing her as a reusable sex object despite any perceived flaws. If her body makes you uncomfortable, that might be a personal issue to consider.

thanks for the summary but i already knew all of this LOL. just gonna add the uncomfortable part for me is the fact the sexualization of her character is supposed to be negative, yet the author draws her in extremely unrealistic clothing and proportions. anyone with tits knows thats not how clothes work, especially bc "stretched out" clothes dont hug u like that lol. iykyk im not gonna argue with anyone abt it i just think the stereotypical manwha body is gross in this context.
