And if turning back time (even once) actually did shorten his lifespan, that means that he’s trying to force her to stay with him knowing that she may be widowed with young children etc,., He’s an incredibly self centered character. He didn’t go back to save her, he went back to avoid losing possession of her, whethe by her own choice or a premature death.
