i think it’s that she needed to hang around him to prevent Riad’s attempts to cripple or kill Ian, so she has to keep up the guise that she’ll curse Ian oat every time she sees him and now that all the attempts are done she has no plans to hang around Ian because there’s no more attempts to thwart and she needed to thwart them all because Riad put all the attempts in her name so if discovered she gets put into jail, and she can’t just leave because she has no money whatsoever because she signed away her inheritance rights to Riad when she was a child
