It's a manga with monthly updates so yeah it's pretty slow and I don't expect her to save her mom any time soon tbh

Yea, it is quite slow in any case, but saving the mom is kinda the ultimate goal, the main character basically needs to resolve the whole conflict of the story to do it, so I wouldn't gauge the pacing by that.
