I knew that the only way the ML can move forward is to keep the MC alive till the end!! It IS like a video game where the objective is to get someone to a safe point without them dying!!! Thats such a great concept, especially in the point of view of the oblivious token NPC that's being protected and wondering wtf the ML is protecting them. ML has it so rough, no wonder he stopped caring about everyone else besides MC.
