it's refreshing to have a male lead who has other things to do other than being a knight and shining armour to the female lead. he's there to support but not to meddle. one contributing factor why this is a slow paced story is because they keep their secrets to themselves, and will only reveal parts of it only after they're 100% sure or trusted the person, which i like. you need to understand that they are a bunch of people who are surrounded by enemies who'll attack them if they don't know any better. i like how it's slow paced. and the fl and duke's father daughter relationship is so cute.
