I think the mangaka is sorta making a point that there never really was a point to it, it was for military power

It just shows a major depiction of current today. Large political powers simply want military power. It is a form of imperialism called militarism. An example of similar current issues is North and South Korea. Both opposing views, but want power

If I remember correctly one of the earlirt chapter show that the city of both country are connected at the border which means it us to be just one nation, so what ever happened that cause it to split might be a result of succession war, civil war, or a part of the country claim independence/autonomous
I'm really curious why two countries against each other? What are they fighting for? Infact, what I want to know who's the one that cause war in the beginning
