I think he found out that Geok-do isn't related to him. But I just can't understand why he didn't confronted it.
Because till now he did all that believing he's protecting someone and that his life had purpose so he endured all the torture and suffering, didn't run away , kill himself or kill the that bastard ... Now just imagine him discovering that the hope he had endured for was a lie??? That's why he can't confront the truth 'cause that would make his life a meaningless lie
