MC, ML, ML older (step/half?) brother was a trio in high school. Ml and mc became friends. High school ml started secretly crushing on mc. He told mc he’s interested in someone and asked mc to help him test the waters with his sexuality. Mc also secretly liked ml so went along with basically everything ml asked. Later on, mc sees ml and ml’s older brother kiss, believing that the person that ml was actually interested in was ml’s own brother. So mc feels somewhat used but can’t help but say yes to ml’s sexual advances cause mc likes ml. The truth hasn’t come out yet but I’m speculating ml’s brother liked ml, found out ml liked mc, got mad, and then secretly beat mc up. Which is why mc couldn’t say goodbye to ml at the airport, and then misunderstanding occurred where ml thinks mc abandoned him. ml and ml’s brother’s mom bribes mc’s dad (who has debt) with money to keep their mouth’s shut about the highschool violence situation. Which is why mc and ml’s mom recognized each other at the hospital present day. We don’t know what happened to ml’s brother, as he is no longer alive per the beginning chapters. Ml doesn’t seem to fond of his deceased brother and doesn’t know mc got traumatized/beat up by said brother. Still believing mc always chose to abandon him when things got too hard. Which is also why he’s a bit hostile towards mc. Mc doesn’t know that ml actually liked him back then either.
