You're barking up the wrong tree, girl. I think this is a very endearing story about found family. The influence of religion, fulfilling responsibilities forced upon you, the navigating the world as a queer person, is all very interesting. When people say "fully grown" they mean Alto is a very mature, emotionally intelligent person, capable of making responsible decisions. I love how they respect each other's boundaries and most importantly there is always CONSENT on both sides.

Elva IS someone who has dealt with SA in the past and he has deliberated carefully how Alto is different, how safe he feels with him. Not once when Alto was a child has Elva thought about making sexual advancements on him.

All in all I do know that topics of age and consent can be very dubious in BL mangas but I also think it's unfair to put this manga under that umbrella so carelessly.

This manga has incredible themes. That’s why it baffles me how the author got this one thing so horribly wrong. You don’t need to defend the problematic thing just because the other things are done right. If this was IRL couple you would be uncomfortable as hell. If you wouldn’t then I don’t know what else to tell you and I guess it is hopeless explaining further.
It made me uncomfortbale through the whole read.

The author also loves to throw around words like “my small body” “can you love this small body of mine” and overall, even though they do the other themes well, I still think this child-like character fetish of theirs is weird. If you can see past that good for you I guess. I can’t.

Why does "blinded by b* have anything to do with this.I just don't see how you concluded elva had romantic feelings for him when Alto was 10. Its not shown anywhere that elva had feeling for him. The feelings only developed after the time skip and all romantic scenes are after the time skip...as for the body, its a part of the plot why the kannagi have younger bodies. But even if the body is smaller he's still an adult, thats like common sense. You are really getting mad at nothing

No I said he had romantic feelings for him as 18 y old but still saw him as a little child basically and wanted him to remain small. He says those lines when he already has feelings for him.
And author constantly reminded us of the age gap like every couple chapters as if she was proud of it. She gloryfies small bodies too. It is overall problematic main theme packaged into a pretty decent story. Sorry you can’t see it because you might be blind to it due to oversaturization of problematic stuff in BL.
