So essentially how it works (I think) is that the castor needs to realize the oath or they need to cut off the body part that oath Mark is on, which is his tongue. Rian cuts off his own tongue
fr? did he got his tongue back tho? also so the pricess wasnt informed of the oath even then? i remember that ot was the emperor (and duke calabria?) who initiated it. i thought the princess knew
He does (somehow) and the princess does know, the Emperor tells her

just to clarify, he doesn’t cut off his whole tongue but scrapes off the insignia that’s on the top of it. so it leaves him unable to talk for a while but it does eventually heal over time !
Oh okay! I thought he really cur the whole thing off. Also cant imagine just scraping the top off, like some tongue scraping for dental hygiene lol!
Like how did they deal with the spell on rian that forced him to obey the princess? Just that. Don’t spoil me on other parts pls. I cant continue reading with the anxiety of that plot line. I was in the part where Eleanor had to search rians body in the camp after teleporting for the insignia spell that i had to stop cos the anxiety is killing me. The insignia was on his tongue i think
