Sorry, You'll are right. But I still think that mc's new body fits the story better. It's rare for high school kids to dare to bully buff guys, they mostly target kids who are easy to bully (scrawny) rather than guys who looks strong or scary.

MC was never bullied before he got into his current body right? He was a 40+ years old buff man who works has a gangster but dream about going to college. He studied outside of his work but never went to an actual school yet. Lost his body when trying to save his current body's original soul.
The one bullied and who commited suicide was his current body's Original soul, not MC. His soul dissapeared and now MC is in his body and decided to get revenge for him while making his own dream come true.

In that case I must say I do agree with you. Though there are case of buff kids being bullied, most of the time it is indeed the scrawny ones. And personaly I enjoy a scrawny kids beating bullies back more hehe
