Talas

I love Talas more than words can do justice. Ali did say that desert women are tough as nails, but Talas is so much braver and self-assured than what people around her give credit for. She's a brilliant, intelligent, resourceful, adaptable and courageous woman! She gave up all the comfort and familiarity of Karakalpakstan , took the risk to move to a country miles across the sea, whose people are condescending and pretentious to say the least, just because she prioritized her happiness in the one life she has, and that takes guts. She has more guts than upper class Victorian women, like Henry and Edward’s mother. She may not be royalty, but she's a true Queen, an aristocrat by any other name.

Yo, I half expected her to turn down Henry until he got his mother's permission. Then again, she has her prior mother-in-law she was quite close to treating her like she's dead so hearing his own mother's wails of over her dead body was enough to know that wouldn't happen. Or if she didn't hear it, having Henry tell her gently was enough to know the truth.

We'll probably get a foal before a baby out of this situation but we've got other couples to check in on. We might not see them for a while.
