Other people have said this but I've gotta make it clear, this is an ick. They're adorable, but also so toxic. I read this when I was younger and remember it being cute, but now I can't get into it. Even if FL did pass as an adult looking and thinking woman (which she doesn't, she's very immature - which isn't an insult) the ML has taken a guardian and mentorship role with her. He also has a lot of power in the relationship, being her boss and landlord. It honestly would have been way cuter if it there was no romance between the two, and they supported each other as family. Maybe it's just where I was raised in the world, but no one I knew with common sense at 16 would have ever tolerated or pursued a relationship with a much older man. We knew it was a red flag for someone older to be interested (considering we knew we were potentially identifiably minors and brain development and all that). There is nothing about teenagers that should be attractive to anyone who isn't a teenager. However, I know this isn't the universal experience. This is not a narrative that should be romanticised. *cries*mourning the loss of another story that is no longer okay now that im an adult with common sense
