((I just realized this is an essay, I'm so sorry))
    That's because it literally is!
There this really good manga about a detective serial murderer that punishes unconvicted criminals with torture and violence. It got really popular and other series with the same premises came out, like the one about a mother who's son killed himself, so she decides to kill his bullies, or another one, where a bullied kid takes revenge against really insane bully that killed his family.

I don't really have a problem with it being a knock-off, since these things tend to bloom into genres. Just as Isekai as villainess was once an original premise, revenge torture porn is becoming a genre.

I just feel like this one is particularly lame? The story is about bullying, but the bully's psyche isn't explored at all. I kind of lost all hope, when the bully character woke up tied in a forest with a sharp stick up his ass, and still acted like a confident asshole. The yandere dude isn't all that interesting either. He just met the mc and is obsessed to the point of murder, but has no other characteristics. The mc is a bit interesting, he's a willing victim in order to protect others, but there's also downsides to that. He doesn't really feel like a real person, if he's that harassed by his classmates, for the reason of protecting people who are okay looking on. The author wants him to face brutal bullying like other mcs, but isn't willing to explore how pathetic and disgusting it feels to be bullied, instead making him feel heroic for letting himself get beat up.

I'd like to talk about the romance, but there isn't really anything right? One guys in love for arbitrary reason and the other doesn't really care either way. They basically have one conversation, that they repeat everytime they meet.

This is a nitpick , but when the bullies want to sexually harass the mc, it doesn't feel like it comes from the characters, but more like an excuse by the author to get him into lewd situation, that he can be rescued from by the mc. Not calling the author a creep or anything, it's just another thing that makes the characters feel flat.

Generally I feel like lot of these knock offs handle sexual violence poorly. They all say that it's wrong, yet they often frame the scenes with sexual violence as though they were normal sex scenes. The mother manga does this too! I don't want to read the story though the eyes of the rapist, lingering on nervous expressions and shaking bodies.
The aforementioned detective manga has an entire arc about an Andrew Tate like man in a pick up artistry organization, that along with his friends regularly rapes and records women. Because he has a rich daddy, his lawyers always get the women to back out of filing charges. The arc has multiple depictions of the assaults, yet they never feel "sexy". They feel like horror. Though this manga isn't totally perfect either imo, though that's what you sign up for in torture porn. That manga takes itself a bit more seriously, while still maintaining dark humor and explores how society enables these people to act horribly. Their protagonist isn't really framed as heroic, but as insane. This manga is literally just trying to pump out a yaoi version of this growing genre as fast as possible.

Again I'm so sorry for this essay
