I agree about the emperor cause yeah I would have just Killed him but on the orphanage part is because she can't do that without drawing the nobilities and kings wrath onto her and the rest of the white bloods.
They still work under a very steep hierarchical system, and her by herself cannot just go and dismantle it. Yeah she could kill that noble and then run away, but then what? She finally found a meaning in killing people for the right reasons. Where else does she have to run to?
She has a life there now. It's not that easy to just let it all go. She can do more good by keeping an eye on them and solving mysteries than by killing one noble and running away.
As for the king part tho, i do want to say that were seeing this as third parties. We can be logical here cause we're not the ones actually living through it, but for her she just rebelled for the first time after finally coming to terms that the person shes served this whole time, this person shes raised wars for, who she did countless attrocities in the name of, the person she swore her fialty to at the start of it all, was actually mad and in the wrong all this time.
That's a really hard thing to come to terms with. So for a regular citizen who views the king as a descendent of god basically, cutting the monarchs hand off is already a grave sin worthy of having your whole family punished. Doubly so for her, who swore to give her life for him.
Like yeah killing him would save some of the trouble but she was already taking a huge step and a huge risk by doing just that
I'm not understanding this at all - why on Earth did they let the dude who kept taking child slaves go free? Just burn him and his 2 subordinates in the fire and blame it on the orphanage? Now not only does he get the credit for uncovering the orphanages schemes and the emperor is on to her, but he also gets to keep all his previous child slaves and continue being a POS.
Same diff with not killing the emperor 10 years ago and instead only cutting off his hand, like??? That was literally prime time, and your crimes are equally punishable so may as well have saved everyone the grief?
