I think both of them are pretty in the wrong, the MC for purposely lying to get the ML to fail and the ML for the lying and the revenge.
However, and maybe this is just me being judgmental, but if getting confessed to by a person, a person who you hold the same feelings for, causes you to completely fail an extremely important exam, you probably weren't gonna pass anyways. Which is weird cause we knows he's super smart so maybe a passing but not that great score would do, but a complete failure? Jeez man (o´Д`)=з his rizz could not have been THAT good
