I mean it's not surprising. It's Korean author. They have a huuuuuge problem with abuse(in any shape or form), misogyny and patriarchy. So for them(will it be regular Koreans or authors) to be expose to it on everyday basis become normality. They become insensitive to it. Plus it's a money grab as well. All the successful manhwas have abuse and rape. Sooo...
That's a beauty and ugliness of humanity... like I said prior no one is questioning that rape/abuse and etc is a wrong thing... the difference is other people can separate fiction from reality, and won't be butt hurt if they proceed to defend fictional character... real life moral compass don't work with fictional characters and it's OK. What's won't work in reality(and shouldn't sometimes) will work in imaginary world lol plus I will add from my point of view- people allowed to have different options from others. That's a beauty and ugliness of humanity
No, I’m talking about hypocrisy mainly. Does it make sense to speak of morals if that person is going to defend a rapist and then hate on another rapist for being a rapist?
And this is my view, we all have different opinion. But even if it is fiction, people being okay with rape is not. I can separate fiction and reality if that’s what you’re getting at, people are allowed to criticize and review and still dislike rape. It doesn’t mean we can’t separate reality and fiction.
The story shows reality and just because it is fiction, does not mean that rape is fine. Even the characters show they aren’t okay with it, and that it is traumatizing. Real life moral compass is within the story, it’s part of reality.
Rape works in reality too, it’s just not accepted. Same for fiction, it’s not accepted here too. The ones I don’t care as much about so the one shot or just purely porn rape.
It is a beauty and ugliness of humanity, I never denied that. My point is, regardless of fiction or not, rape isn’t something to be lenient with. I don’t have an issue with people defending rapist as much as you think because they explained well why they defend them, it’s when they defend one rapist and then hate on another rapist.
I hate hypocrisy and double standards a lot, that’s all.
Separating fiction from reality is when you know the fiction isn’t a true story in the reality, it’s a story that’s been written and illustrated by another human being. BUT the elements in there are reality as much as some wanna deny.
People debating and defending rape can still separate fiction and reality. It does not mean they believe the fiction is a same as reality. I think you’re confusing yourself.
I’ve been saying that person is a hypocrite for defending a rapist while hating on ANOTHER rapist. Which clearly hasn’t gotten to your head, you keep talking about fiction and reality.
I honestly don’t care as much about who’s a rapist or not. It just bothers me when people defend a rapist and then hate on another rapist. Why hate on someone who’s the same kind of rapist? They should defend both for being rapist then! I don’t have an issue. But it is an issue when they hate on Person A for being a rapist, but then love Person B who’s their favorite but Person B is also a rapist.
Tell me this. Are people obligated to separate fiction from reality when the fiction has reality? It’s not some sort of escapism if you’re reading a story that shows trauma and mental health, spreading awareness and people are free to comment whatever. It’s the hypocrisy that bothers me more than rape.
Why hate on Dohyeok if they’re gonna defend another character who’s a rapist? Is my point. I’m not hating because they are rapists. I hate rapists in reality but not much in fiction.
People yapping about rape in a MLM comic written by a Korean straight woman, don't expect much
