I'm guessing that all the worlds are somehow a part of the system. Wang Yi was transmigrated after he formed a contract with the system so as to revive his friends, but after meeting his friend (Bai Mo) he realized that they aren't dead yet — just in a comatose state. So, there's no urgency to complete his original mission.
Regarding their origins: Wang Yi was originally a system (a.k.a, 'Y') just like SO (the black cat) before somehow reincarnating as a human. Qin Xian used to be his host (a human) before his soul shattered into pieces. As per the latest chapter, it's revealed that Y was using Qin Xian to jump from world to world and secretly collecting energy *inside* Qin Xian so as to overthrow the master system. So, all the Qin Xian we've met until now are the fragments of his soul, which was shattered to allegedly hide the collected energy.
