You gotta understand these are two aloof characters, they’re not gonna trust each other immediately. Their emotions toward one another are subtle, but get stronger as the story progresses.
This webcomic is very much show not tell. But it's crazy to me that someone doesn't get how sexually and emotionally charged their dialogue is, their chemistry is through the roof even without spelling out their feelings. It's worth 1000% more than the cliches you see in other webcomics.

No seriously like their gestures their choice of words their actions their eyes omg I cannot talk about them enough they are so in love and it’s so beautiful and kind of pure? in a way idk how to explain it but they only have eyes for each other and ugh I want what they have seriously. If you simply read the story as it is you won’t get it there are double meanings between the lines sometimes when Jake is talking about cars he means shin and in every penal their are little details

To me, chapter 62 or 63 (I forget exactly what chapter it is) seals the deal. It’s so subtle, but that hand play while driving and talking was so intimate. There are other instances where their feelings are shown, but to me that scene is the one that sticks out in my head.
